Health Policy Debate Club

Debate Team Health Debate Central AHEC Health Policy Debate Club is running once again this Fall at the Hartford Public High School Law and Government Academy, but opportunities are also available to students at other schools. Central AHEC is actively seeking any students who are interested in learning how to argue and WIN! The club involves health-related topics and is designed to build the skills necessary for success in health, science, or law careers. The abilities to read, research, and reason are crucial for anyone wishing to pursue a career in health.

In our Health Policy Debate Club, students in grades 10-12 explore some of the hot-button issues in health and science today. These students will join the ranks of some of the country's most successful people (Adam Sandler, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton) as members of their high school debate club.

Health care fields are highly competitive areas, so developing confidence and an attitude conducive to success are the first steps in recruiting new health professionals. The Central AHEC Health Policy Debate Club is designed to prepare the next generation of students for these challenges.
