High School Students Graduate from Health Careers Summer Camps

Join us on August 11, 2008 with parents, community collaborators and the staff from Central Area Health Education Center, Inc. as we celebrate more than 110 students age 14-18 that have completed one of our summer health education and career exploration programs within Hartford County:

  • Advancing Health Education and Careers Summer Institute (Bloomfield and Bristol sites)
  • CVS Pharmacy Internship
  • New Britain General Hospital Medical Camp
  • Migrant Farm Worker Program
  • St. Francis Medical Camp
  • Voices of the Future

This year Central AHEC, Inc, a 501(c)(3) community based organization worked in collaboration with St. Francis Hospital, New Britain General Hospital, Bristol Central High School, Big Picture High School in Bloomfield, the Capital Workforce Partners and others to achieve the following goals with our participants:

  1. Improve knowledge of health careers
  2. Increase ability to understand the health disparities that affect their peers and their community
  3. Promote personal development and growth
  4. Support the completion of education and career goals

Come and meet members of the Central AHEC, Inc. Board of Directors, learn about our other programs that provide services to more than 3000 individuals each year and find out how you can support the growth and development of today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders!
